Thermo Auricular Therapy comes from the North American Indian tribe called the Hopis (meaning peaceful people) and involves hollow candles inserted into the ear then set alight.
This treatment is useful for:

The candle, when lit, generates a gentle heat and when combined with the oils produces a light suction action, this is known as the chimney principle and works by drawing impurities gently to the surface where they can be removed.
The candle residue does not go into the ear, the treatment is very relaxing and a feeling of reduced pressure in the ears gives the client a calming effect.
Inside the candles are honey, beeswax and herbs, and this regulates the pressure in the inner ear.
